Jaejin Hwang is an assistant professor in industrial and systems engineering department at Northern Illinois University.
He received a Ph.D. in industrial and systems engineering from Ohio State University in 2016. He is a director of Wellness and Ergonomics Laboratory (WE-LAB), and a co-director of NeuroErgonomics laboratory. He has expertise in physical ergonomics and occupational biomechanics. His research aims to improve the health and wellness of workers by exploring the risk of work injuries and efficacy of ergonomic interventions. His research area includes the spine and upper extremity biomechanics and neuroergonomics. His research has been funded by National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH), Office Ergonomics Research Committee (OERC), and Samsung. He has supported and mentored numerous students and published over 40 peer-reviewed articles and conference proceeding papers. He has been a member of an editorial board in journal Work since 2016, and has served as a reviewer for numerous international journals.
