Craig E. Slater

Craig E. Slater, PhD, MPH, BOccThy, is a Clinical Assistant Professor and the Director of Interprofessional Education and Practice at Boston University, Sargent College of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences. Dr Slater received his PhD from the University of Wollongong, Australia; Master of Public Health from the University of Sydney, Australia; and Bachelor of Occupational Therapy from La Trobe University, Australia.

Dr Slater's primary teaching and research focus is on interprofessional education (IPE) and collaborative practice. Currently, he leads the IPE curriculum at Sargent College involving students in occupational therapy, physical therapy, nutrition, and speech language pathology programs. He has over 15 years' experience developing and delivering IPE curricula at universities in both Australia and the United States.

Dr Slater also has experience working in the public sector, developing and implementing large-scale interprofessional training programs for health professionals working in local health districts across the state of New South Wales, Australia. Clinically, he has practiced as an occupational therapist in Australia and the United Kingdom, working in hand therapy, acute care, stroke rehabilitation, and community settings.
