Rachel Santarsiero currently works as a civil engineer for Stantec Consulting, where she designs shared-use walking and biking paths around Massachusetts. Somewhat by accident, Rachel stumbled upon occupational therapy on a service learning trip to Morocco and Spain.
While abroad, she volunteered with various occupational therapy professors and students and visited Alzheimer's facilities, rural health clinics, and hospitals. Moved by what she saw and the work her fellow volunteers took part in, Rachel became involved with WORK Journal.
Rachel received her Bachelor’s of Science in Civil Engineering and Professional Writing, with a Minor in International and Global Studies in May 2018. She has several published works, including “Countering Radicalization: A Public Health Approach” in the Hans Seidel Foundation Journal. Rachel enjoys thinking about all the possible career paths she could have, and will hopefully settle on one someday.
